K-2 Virtual Enrichment Lessons

Invite TreePeople to provide a 1-hour virtual enrichment lesson for your K-2 classroom! These virtual lessons are live, interactive, educational and fun! Students become experts in different environmental topics: trees, mulch, compost, resources, water, air, leaves, seeds, and community heros. After the lesson you receive a supplemental worksheet specific to the lesson topic to continue the fun!

Sessions

Session 1: 9am – 10am
Session 2: 11am – 12pm
Session 3: 1pm – 2pm

Cost

$100 per session for a class of up to 25 students

Enrichment Tree lesson- Salesforce

A Tree is Like Me!

  • Students will solve a tree riddle, draw in their journal, get a gift from the trees, realize how similar to trees we are, meet Sally the Sad Tree, and learn how to take care of the trees in their neighborhood. Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — Call Me Tree/Llámame Árbol — a dual language book by Maya Christina Gonzalez.

Enrichment Dirt lesson- Salesforce

The Dirt Doctor is In!

  • Students will solve a soil riddle, draw in their journal, compare the difference between healthy and unhealthy soil, learn how to make ”mulch medicine” with the Dirt Doctor. Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — Dirt: The Scoop On Soil by Natalie Rosinsky.

Enrichment Compost Lesson- Salesforce

Can You Cook Compost?

  • Students will solve a compost riddle, draw in their journal, learn about compost and how to do it at home. They will make some worm friends and experience a virtual tour of what the inside of a compost bin looks like — critters and all! Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin.

Discover Nature’s Treasures in Disguise

  • Students will solve a resource riddle, discover a treasure chest filled with nature’s treasures in disguise, learn ways to protect our natural resources by doing the 3 R’s, and hear a special story about a character that re-used his clothing to create something new! Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — The Adventures of an Aluminum Can by Alison Inches

A Meeting With Waterdrop

  • Students will solve a water riddle, draw in their journal, create a rainstorm right in their home, get a message from Waterdrop and learn ways to conserve water. Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts

Enrichment Air Lesson- Salesforce

Look! The Air Out There

  • Students will solve the air riddle, draw in their journal, learn ways to see, feel, and hear the air around them, make the connection between oxygen and carbon dioxide, and discover our connection to trees. Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — The Wind Blew by Pat Hutchins

Enrichment Seed Lesson-Salesforce

Let’s Go to the Seed Museum!

  • Students will solve a seed riddle, draw in their journal, and get to become a seed themselves experiencing the seed cycle. They will visit our seed museum and learn how to make their own seed viewers! Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

Enrichment Community Lesson- Salesforce

Can You Be an Eco-Hero?

  • Students will solve a hero’s riddle, draw in their journal, and discover the different environmental acts that make a true hero. Using a fun home scavenger hunt, students will go through the journey from Eco-Minded to Eco-Hero, and create their own hero insignia. Students will be fully engaged through song, games and activities. The lesson ends with a specially selected book and read along — I Am a Super Hero by Juliane Green
